Youth Group
Wednesday Nights
Youth Group meets year round (minus holidays)! Gather in the Youth Room on Wednesday evenings, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Each session begins with informal conversation and fellowship followed by a group activities before jumping into a bible study at 7:00.
Bible studies are a mix of videos, devotional materials and books geared for youth and related to topics that matter in their life. Faith comes alive in a setting where teenagers who love God can be open about their faith.
Mission Trips
Each summer interested youth are able to participate in a week long mission trip. Mission sites vary each year, but all mission trips are through Youthworks, a christian organization aimed at connecting teenagers with Christ through service, fellowship and worship. Youth come away from trips changed in an amazing way; closer to God and closer to each other. In the past, we have served and worshiped in the communities of Chicago, IL, Lame Deer Montana, Kokomo, IN and Cincinnati, OH.
Every three years, our youth are able to attend the ELCA National Youth Gathering to worship God with 30,000+ Lutheran youth. It is a great opportunity for youth to grown their faith and an eye opening event for many as they realize they are not alone in their faith. The next gathering will be in Houston, Texas June 27 – July 1, 2018. More information will be coming as it is available.
Church Support
The congregation provides strong financial and prayerful support for the faith adventures of Good Shepherd youth and their leaders. Without their prayers and financial support, these trips would not be possible. We would like to thank the church for their continued support with our newest fundraiser through Great Lakes Scrip.
